THE CITY
Chomedey is an emerging city formed by the recent merging of Abord-à-Plouffe, St-Martin and Renaud municipalities. As the city master plan is only completed to its preliminary stage, the definitive location of the heart of the city appears to be too early. 1. The civic center
The civic center includes all the administrative, social and cultural activities of the city. The center acts as the core, the space of cohesion for all citizens as the crowd gathers on various occasions: public festivities, political reunions, etc. It represents the participation of individual citizens to the community. In this perspective, the competitors have to demonstrate a great sensibility to the site's environment in their designs.
Moreover, the civic center, and the City Hall contains many functions such as:

The implantation must consider the public reception by providing for the necessary spaces and premises.
