The project for the Maison de la littérature de L'Institut Canadien de Quebec, to be built in the old Wesley Temple located at 37 Sainte-Angèle street in the Cité-Limoilou neighborhood, is the subject of this competition. The concept behind the project, as described by the program, will likely lead to the first embodiment of its kind in Canada. The architectural experience is related to writing and literary imagination. The Maison de la littérature is a place of inspiration, creative writing, meeting and entertainment for the literary field, its creators and the public. It stands out from the standard model of a library for its program and implementation and relationship between spaces.

The program covers a net area of approximately 1500 m2, which corresponds roughly to the area offered by the existing building. No expansion is planned as part of the competition and work is largely confined within the existing envelope.
