L'Ordre des architectes du Québec, through its limited partnership, has acquired the building located at 420 McGill Street in Montreal. The primary purpose is to house its head office, but ultimately, the Order's leaders and other organizations working in the same field will give this building a special vocation. 420 McGill will become the House of Architecture, Design and Urbanism. Originally, in the 1880s, three separate buildings had been erected on this site. In 1992, the shells of these three buildings were kept and merged into a single rental property. This contest is limited to the interior layout of the second floor of approximately 625 square meters.

The main issues concern : the budget, access to natural lighting and the contribution of new developments to the synergy of the work team. These three elements are of particular concern to users and management. Finally, one of the major issues, emphasized by all occupants of the current head office, is to foster collaboration and teamwork to create a whole new dynamic. The current state of 1825 René-Lévesque West created an atmosphere in which employees were isolated from each other and scattered over three fragmented floors.
