{"id":22320,"date":"2020-08-20T07:50:43","date_gmt":"2020-08-20T12:50:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/crc.umontreal.ca\/?p=22320"},"modified":"2023-08-07T10:09:12","modified_gmt":"2023-08-07T15:09:12","slug":"archives-de-lexcellence-en-architecture-aea","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/crc.umontreal.ca\/en\/archives-de-lexcellence-en-architecture-aea\/","title":{"rendered":"ARCHIVES OF EXEMPLARITY IN ARCHITECTURE AND THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT (AREA)"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<em><strong>The Archives of Exemplarity in Architecture and the Built Environment (AREA) is an open construction site!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>AREA-BE is an initiative of the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/crc.umontreal.ca\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Canada Research Chair in Architecture, Competitions and Mediations for Excellence (CRC-ACME)<\/a><\/strong>, held by\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/crc.umontreal.ca\/en\/chercheur\/jean-pierre-chupin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jean-Pierre Chupin<\/a><\/strong>, Ph.D. , architect MOAQ, MIRAC, DPLG, DipArch (2), Professor at Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al. <a href=\"https:\/\/architecture-excellence.org\/aea-network\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">This initiative is actively supported by a <strong>network of Canadian and international scholars<\/strong>.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The current website of the <strong>AREA<\/strong> (www.architecture-excellence.org) has been officially launched in November 2019 for information purposes.<\/p>\n<p>The AREA website foreshadows an important documentation and research platform to be launched in 2021 \/ 2022<\/p>\n<p>This long-term initiative is supported by the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.innovation.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Canada Foundation for Innovation<\/a> <\/strong>and the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sshrc-crsh.gc.ca\/home-accueil-eng.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada<\/a><\/strong> through the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.chairs-chaires.gc.ca\/home-accueil-eng.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Canada Research Chairs Program<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In the coming years, the establishment of an AREA partnership of researchers based in Canadian schools of architecture and research universities will ensure the reliability, regular updating and sustainability of this scientific platform regrouping resources, knowledge transfers and analyzes on best examples of architectural design, landscape design and urban design in Canada.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to the contribution of institutions delivering awards and to professional teams giving access to data on projects and buildings, researchers and students will be able to contribute to a better understanding of the current evolution of quality in the built environment.
