The City of Québec, in collaboration with the Ministère de la Culture et des Communications, the Commission de la capitale nationale du Québec, the Ministère des Transports and the Société des établissements de plein air du Québec, today launched an international ideas competition for the enhancement of the foot of Montmorency Falls. The crowning event will take place during the Festival of Architecture of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC), which will be held in Quebec City from June 16 to 19.
The budget for the competition is $100,000, of which $50,000 comes from the Entente sur le développement culturel de Québec between the City and the Ministère de la Culture et des Communications, with $25,000 from each of the partners, $25,000 from the Commission de la capitale nationale du Québec, $20,000 from the Ministère des Transports and $5,000 from the Société des établissements de plein air du Québec.
The five partners are soliciting international applications from experts and students in the field of architecture and urban planning for the Perspective Littoral competition. These will be used to guide the overall reflection on the entire eastern shore of Quebec City, in a sustainable development perspective.
